If you have recently received a new mobile device or had your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) reset, follow these steps to re-secure your account.
Prerequisites
- Your JumpCloud email and password.
- An iOS or Android mobile device with the JumpCloud Protect app installed.
Part 1: Clear Old Accounts
To avoid enrollment errors, you must remove any inactive accounts from your mobile app.
Step 1: Remove Inactive Profiles
- Open the JumpCloud Protect app on your phone.
- Locate your previous work account.
- Swipe left on the account and tap the red Trash icon to delete it.

- Alternatively, tap the account and select Delete Account from the details menu.

Part 2: Enroll Your New Device
Once your administrator has reset your MFA, you will be prompted to set up your security factors upon your next login.
Step 1: Initial Push Enrollment
- On your Mac, navigate to console.jumpcloud.com and log in.
- In the Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication window, select JumpCloud Protect - Push and click Set Up.

- Open the JumpCloud Protect app on your phone, tap +, and scan the QR Code on your Mac screen.
Step 2: Navigate to Security Settings
- Once logged into the User Portal, click the Security tab in the left-hand sidebar.
Step 3: Enroll the Second MFA Factor (TOTP)
- Locate the Multi-factor Authentication section.
- Select Authenticator App and click Set Up Authenticator App.

- Follow the prompts to scan the new QR Code with your JumpCloud Protect app.
Tip: Setting up both Push and Authenticator App (TOTP) ensures you can still log in if you have poor cellular service or don't receive the push notification.
