General Overview
- What is JumpCloud Go?
- JumpCloud Go is a hardware-protected and phishing-resistant browser extension that provides a secure, passwordless login experience for your company applications.
- Once registered, you will not need to repeatedly enter your email, password, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) codes every time you access your resources.
- How long does my login session last?
- Once you authenticate using JumpCloud Go, you will stay logged into your corporate applications for up to 12 hours.
- Logging in to or unlocking your computer will automatically refresh this session.
- What applications does it work with?
- JumpCloud Go works with company-authorized Single Sign-On (SSO) applications that are linked directly to JumpCloud.
- This includes frequently used tools such as:
- Google Workspace apps (Gmail, Drive, Docs, etc.)
- Salesforce
- Dialpad
- Zoom
- Slack
- KnowBe4
Security & Privacy
- Do I have to use a fingerprint/Touch ID?
- No, using biometrics is completely optional.
- While Touch ID (macOS) is the fastest option, you can choose to verify your identity by entering your standard local computer login password instead.
- If I use Touch ID, is my fingerprint data private?
- Yes. Your biometric data stays encrypted locally on your specific device's secure hardware, such as Apple's Secure Enclave.
- Your fingerprint is never transmitted to JumpCloud, Apple, or the internet.
- Can I use JumpCloud Go on my personal computer or phone?
- No. JumpCloud Go requires a company-managed device with the JumpCloud Agent installed.
- It only works when you are logged into your organizational device account.
- Can I still log in the "old way" with my email and password?
- Yes. A company email and password are required to register JumpCloud Go the first time.
- You can still choose to authenticate with traditional methods after the extension is enabled.
